Blue Jays Beaten by Hammerheads, 7-3
|
The Jupiter Hammerheads picked up a win at Roger Dean Stadium, knocking off the Dunedin Blue Jays, 7-3. Starting pitcher Phil Neal was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Neal, now 3-1. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 2. The triumph puts Jupiter at 34-23 for the season.
Wally Ramsey had a big run-scoring double for the Hammerheads in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Jupiter leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Hughes and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hammerheads ahead, 4-2.
Ramsey called the win "a team effort."
