Cardinals Continue Skid, Thanks to Blair, Threshers
The Clearwater Threshers and Palm Beach Cardinals played an entertaining game for Roger Dean Stadium patrons.

The Clearwater Threshers licked the Palm Beach Cardinals, 5-4. Walt Blair deserved a big chunk of the credit. The designated hitter was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Threshers. Daniel Brunt notched his 6th save in 6 chances.

Blair had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 2-0 fastball from Wing-chiu Huang, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Threshers a 5-3 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Blair.

"I had some good swings out there," said Blair.

The victory makes Clearwater 22-41.
