The Lakeland Flying Tigers beat the Bradenton Marauders, 6-4, at Joker Marchant Stadium. Chip Wurzburg, in particular, was impressive. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 3 times. The win puts Lakeland at 43-21 this season.

Garry Bishop, who is tied for 10th in the FSL with a .453 slugging percentage, had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Lakeland second baseman hit a run-scoring single. That put the Flying Tigers in front, 5-4.

In postgame comments to the Lakeland Today, Wurzburg said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
