The home crowd had a good time watching the Palm Beach Cardinals and Daytona Tortugas get after it.

Jeff Kennedy was a major factor in the 7-1 Daytona win over Palm Beach. The Tortugas first baseman went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. Daytona reliever Steve Adams was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Tony Houston.

Kevin Patrick had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Daytona. With the bases loaded and the Tortugas leading 2-1, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Daytona skipper Tracy McGrady.

The Tortugas win now puts them at 31-36.
