|
The Fort Myers Miracle defeated the Clearwater Threshers, 4-3, in Florida State League action at Bright House Field. Fort Myers pitcher Andy McCormick had a standout performance. McCormick yielded 3 runs over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-4. Chris Arnold earned the save for Fort Myers, his 7th.
Jim Huff, who is tied for 8th in the FSL in hits with 71, had a direct impact on the outcome. Huff contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Fort Myers up, 4-0.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said McCormick.
Fort Myers now sits at 31-38, while Clearwater falls to 36-33.
