The St. Lucie Mets walked off with a big win.

The St. Lucie Mets earned a close win over the Lakeland Flying Tigers, thanks in part to Colt Peters. The St. Lucie right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the FSL in quality starts with 8, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Doug Merrill claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. His record stands at 7-4.

Bob Short was the walk-off hero for St. Lucie. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mets left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Peters.

The Mets have now won 7 straight.
