Visiting Hammerheads Beat Miracle, 8-1
|
The Jupiter Hammerheads beat the Fort Myers Miracle by a score of 8-1. Jupiter center fielder Billy Stroud deserved the lion's share of the credit. Stroud was 3-5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs for the Hammerheads. Fort Myers's current losing streak is now 4 games.
Jupiter used a clutch at-bat from Wally Ramsey to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hammerheads ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Stroud told the Jupiter Chronicle.
