The Lakeland Flying Tigers beat the St. Lucie Mets, 8-1, at Tradition Field. The win was due in part to second baseman Garry Bishop, who was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Juan Martínez got the win, improving to 6-3. He held the Mets to no runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 1. The Flying Tigers sport a record of 47-26.

With Lakeland leading 3-0 in the top of the fifth, Bishop hit a forkball from Pancho Gutiérrez for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Flying Tigers ahead, 6-0.
