|
Daytona Tortugas left-hander Dan Burke pitched a good game against the Clearwater Threshers at Jackie Robinson Ballpark, leading his team to victory, 4-1. In 6.2 innings, Burke surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Earning the save was Alex Ashe. He's now cashed in 17 of 18 save opportunities.
Luis Miranda had a big run-scoring double for the Tortugas in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Daytona leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a circle change from Kade Lynch and swatted a double to right. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tortugas ahead, 2-0.
Daytona manager Tracy McGrady commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
Daytona goes to 36-42, Clearwater to 41-37.
