Threshers Victorious at Daytona, 3-1
|
The Clearwater Threshers earned a win at Jackie Robinson Ballpark, stopping the Daytona Tortugas, 3-1. Starting pitcher Sigfrid Naegeli played a big role in his team's success. Naegeli yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2. His record improves to 8-6. Picking up the save was Jeremy Jackson. He's now 8 for 9 in save chances.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Bob Hodges? The Clearwater second baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Threshers on top, 3-1. For the game, Hodges had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
