Marauders Slap 4-2 Loss on Lakeland
|
Lakeland got a decent performance from pitcher Eric Jackson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Bradenton Marauders. Bradenton won the Calvin Falwell Field contest, 4-2. Jackson threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Steve Russell was credited with the save, his 13th in 16 tries. The Bradenton win streak is now 3 games.
Ken McGill had a big 3-run home run for the Marauders in the bottom of the third inning. With Bradenton leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Eric Jackson and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Marauders ahead, 4-0.
"I like what I saw today," said Bradenton manager Miguel Montero, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
