Led by Jerry Dickey, the St. Lucie Mets defeated the Brevard County Manatees, 14-8. Dickey, a native of Everett, Washington, went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Mets. The win went to Chris Bacon in relief, making him now 1-2. Johnny Blackwell took the loss for Brevard County. With the win, St. Lucie pushed its record to 44-34.

St. Lucie used a timely hit from Dave Armitstead to get the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Mets ahead, 10-8. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"It was great to come out and swing the bats," Dickey told the St. Lucie Citizen.
