Lowe Helps Tampa Outscore Daytona
The Tampa Yankees beat the Daytona Tortugas, 14-10, at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Tampa shortstop Steve Lowe had an outstanding performance. He went 4-6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. With the victory, the Yankees upped their record to 51-43.

Randy Bowers had a big 2-run double for the Yankees in the top of the first inning. With Tampa leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a curveball from Doug Hayes and swatted a double to right. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Yankees ahead, 4-0.

Bowers said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
