Mets Pocket 6-1 Win Against Clearwater
|
Kel Turner was terrific for the St. Lucie Mets in his team's 6-1 triumph over the Clearwater Threshers. His performance earned Turner rave reviews. Turner, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks. The first-place Mets, at 58-44, lead the FSL South by 3½ games.
The St. Lucie dugout showed signs of unrest at times. But the Mets put this one in the win column with some good pitching and some timely hitting at critical moments.
