Hammerheads Rack Up 8-5 Win Versus Daytona
|
Jupiter beat Daytona in a rain-soaked ballgame.
Eric Anderson made an impact in the 8-5 Jupiter win over Daytona. Anderson went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Jupiter reliever Pancho Jaca picked up the win, upping his record to 9-1. Myron Cross took the loss.
Had Wally Ramsey not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Ramsey hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Hammerheads.
Ramsey called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
Daytona, at 49-58, has lost 4 straight.
