|
The St. Lucie Mets beat the Palm Beach Cardinals, 8-3, at Roger Dean Stadium. The Mets got a fine performance from center fielder Sean O'Connor, who was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Colt Peters picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 5-7. Chris Bacon locked down his 2nd save.
Reggie Turner came through with a big-time hit for St. Lucie. The third baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said O'Connor.
St. Lucie has run its win streak to 4 straight.
