The Brevard County Manatees stymied the Tampa Yankees, 4-2, at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Alfredo Fernández had a good day at the plate. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. Brevard County used the timely hitting of Jon McAdoo Jr. to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Manatees on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Brevard County manager Jeremy Hernandez. "It's usually not just one thing."
