Cardinals Get Past Tampa, 3-2
|
In a tight contest between the Palm Beach Cardinals and the Tampa Yankees, Sean Thompson was the determining factor. The Palm Beach right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. By defeating Tampa, the third-place Cardinals improved to 57-58.
Palm Beach took a 3-2 lead on Jon Jacobs's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Jacobs hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Tampa pitcher Xavier García visibly frustrated.
"Sean did a heck of a job," said Palm Beach manager Orlando López.
