Hammerheads Upend Tortugas, 7-1
|
Jupiter used a superb performance from starting pitcher Myron Cross to down the Daytona Tortugas, 7-1. The win gives Jupiter a season record of 61-61.
Jon Barlow had a big grand slam home run for the Hammerheads in the top of the sixth inning. With Jupiter leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a forkball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Don Chase and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Hammerheads on top, 7-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Barlow told the Jupiter Herald.
