Mets Take Down Flying Tigers, 6-4
The St. Lucie Mets outlasted the Lakeland Flying Tigers, 6-4, in 10 innings. St. Lucie center fielder Bobby Cox stood out with his performance. He was 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. St. Lucie pitcher Luis Lucero earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Filip Pauw suffered the loss. Earning the save was Joey Burns. He's now cashed in 3 of 5 save opportunities.

Cox had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a first pitch changeup from Filip Pauw, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Mets a 6-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Cox.

"It was terrific getting this win," Cox said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."

With the win, St. Lucie pushed its record to 71-62.
