Jupiter Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
The Jupiter Hammerheads defeated the Clearwater Threshers, 2-1, in Florida State League action at Roger Dean Stadium. Jupiter pitcher Jed Shelton had a standout performance. Jupiter reliever José Sánchez, who is tied for 4th in the FSL in saves with 27, was credited with the win. His record goes to 5-3. Jim Bailey took the loss for Clearwater. The first-place Hammerheads, at 87-46, now lead their division by 16½ games.

The decisive blow was delivered by Yan Carlos Rodríguez in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old right-handed pitcher José Castro to win the game for Jupiter. The home crowd went nuts.

"We played hard and won," said Shelton. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
