With left fielder Pete Williams leading the charge, the Charlotte Stone Crabs defeated the Palm Beach Cardinals, 15-6, at Charlotte Sports Park. Williams went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Charlotte is now 62-72, while Palm Beach is 66-68.

Tim Rice had a big 2-run double for the Stone Crabs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Charlotte leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Dave Jones and swatted a double to left. It was his 33rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stone Crabs ahead, 5-0.

"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Williams.
