Charlotte Sends Clearwater Packing with 5-3 Loss
Charlotte left fielder José González contributed significantly to his team's 5-3 win over the Clearwater Threshers. González, who is tied for 3rd in the FSL in doubles with 32, went 2 for 2 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Stone Crabs. Orlando Caraballo picked up the win with 7.2 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 3-4. The defeat makes Clearwater 58-76.

It could have been a different outcome for Charlotte, had it not been for José Padilla, the 22-year old shortstop . Padilla contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Charlotte up, 4-2.

"Whenever I help the team," said González, "it sort of justifies my place on the roster."
