Daytona catcher Ricky Vaughan contributed significantly to his team's 7-6 win over the Palm Beach Cardinals. Vaughan went 1 for 1 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Tortugas. The Tortugas improved their record to 73-64 by beating Palm Beach.

The game was all tied up in the top of the eighth, until Vaughan delivered big-time for Daytona, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Mike Lowery. The game-changing hit put the Tortugas on top, 6-4.

"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Vaughan told a local reporter after the game.
