Thanks in large part to center fielder Juan Travassos, the Tampa Yankees beat the Clearwater Threshers, 9-4. Travassos was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. By defeating Clearwater, the second-place Yankees improved to 73-64.

With Tampa leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Travassos hit a changeup from Steve Ives for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Yankees ahead, 4-0.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Travassos.
