The home crowd had a good time watching the Bowling Green Hot Rods and Great Lakes Loons get after it.
The 7-4 Great Lakes win over Bowling Green was due largely to Jorge Rivera. The Loons third baseman was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Great Lakes starter Juan Ortíz was credited with the win after throwing 109 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 1-0.
Jorge Rivera was 1-5 for Great Lakes. The 22-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Jake Canavan. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.
"It was our day today," Rivera told the Great Lakes Daily News. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
The loss makes Bowling Green 2-2.
