Hot Rods Rack Up 13-3 Win Versus Quad Cities
|
The Bowling Green Hot Rods beat the Quad Cities River Bandits, 13-3, at Bowling Green Ballpark. Freddy Martínez, in particular, was impressive. He was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Eric Rogers picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Dan Weldon was tagged with the loss. With the win, the Hot Rods improved to 17-17.
Tied up with the River Bandits in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Hot Rods got a boost from center fielder Ken Dennis. With the bases loaded, Dennis saw a 0-1 forkball from Dan Weldon and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Bowling Green on top, 4-3.
Quad Cities manager Takanobu Sato said: "We'll put this one in the trash can and get ready for the next game."
