Hot Rods Win at South Bend, 3-1
|
Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the South Bend Cubs and Bowling Green Hot Rods.
The Bowling Green Hot Rods went home winners at Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Von O'Sullivan. O'Sullivan stifled the South Bend Cubs, enabling Bowling Green to grab the 3-1 win. Edwin Hinkle collected his 8th save.
With the game tied, 1-1, in the top of the seventh, O'Sullivan had a key at-bat for Bowling Green. With runners on 1st and 2nd, O'Sullivan hit a run-scoring single off Ed Green, making the score 2-1, Hot Rods.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said South Bend manager Taylor Davis.
With the win, Bowling Green upped its record to 20-20.
