Hot Rods Walk It Off for 24th Win of Season
The South Bend Cubs could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Glenn Hughes into a win. Instead, the Bowling Green Hot Rods prevailed, 5-4, in 12 innings. Hughes threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The second-place Hot Rods have won 5 in a row.

The decisive blow was delivered by Juan López in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a run-scoring double off 22-year old left-handed pitcher Mike Tillman to win the game for Bowling Green. The home crowd went nuts.

Bowling Green manager James Hoyt commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
