Harper Helps Hot Rods Run Win Streak to 6
The Bowling Green Hot Rods topped the South Bend Cubs, 11-9, at Bowling Green Ballpark. Bowling Green shortstop Steve Harper was a spark plug for the offense. He went 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Charlie Bingham picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-3. Juan Galván was tagged with the loss. The second-place Hot Rods have won 6 in a row.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Hot Rods grabbed the lead when Harper hit his 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Juan Galván made it 8-6, Bowling Green.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Harper. "You've got to get results."
