Cubs Suffer 6-4 Road Loss
The home crowd had a good time watching the South Bend Cubs and Bowling Green Hot Rods get after it.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods topped the South Bend Cubs, 6-4, in Midwest League action at Bowling Green Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Bowling Green designated hitter Juan Madrigal. Edwin Hinkle picked up the save for Bowling Green, his 9th of the year.

In the bottom of the fifth, Alvin Scott delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Bowling Green first baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Hot Rods in front, 6-4.

"Getting the win feels nice," said Madrigal. "More importantly, I had a good game."

The Hot Rods have now won 7 straight.
