Tight Tilt Goes to Dragons, 2-1
|
The Dragons grabbed a win, 2-1, at Fifth Third Field, overcoming a fine effort from Bowling Green pitcher José Quiñones. Quiñones went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner in relief was José Amalia. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-1. Juan Sánchez finished the game for Dayton and earned his 18th save.
The Dragons got a big at-bat from catcher Jim Unknown. For the game, Unknown went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Dayton a 2-1 lead.
