Viera Pops Two Homers in 9-5 Win for Lansing
The 9-5 Lansing win over Bowling Green was due largely to José Viera. The Lugnuts shortstop was 3-5 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. With the win, Lansing pushed its record to 38-32.

Bobby Shirley had a big 2-run double for the Lugnuts in the top of the eighth inning. With Lansing leading 4-3 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Edwin Hinkle and swatted a double to left. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lugnuts ahead, 6-3.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Viera.
