Cubs Continue Skid, Thanks to Jones, Hot Rods
The Bowling Green Hot Rods downed the South Bend Cubs, 13-7, at Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium. Chris Jones led the way, going 4-for-6 for Bowling Green. The Cubs, now 29-44, have lost 5 straight.

Bowling Green won the game in part because of Chris Hill. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Hot Rods ahead, 5-1. For the game, Hill had 1 double and 1 home run in 6 at-bats.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Hot Rods manager James Hoyt. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
