Hits Galore: Díaz Drills 5 Hits Saturday, August 22nd , 2026 The Mississippi Hammers couldn't stop Bernardo Díaz, but they stopped the Birmingham Barons, 3-2. Díaz went 5-for-9 in the game at Regions Park, but his team still came out on the wrong end of the score. "I feel bad for Bernardo -- that's not how any of us wanted things to turn out," said Birmingham manager Casey Kopitzke. "The Hammers were on their game today." Bernardo Díaz hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, struck out in the 7th, flied out in the 9th, struck out in the 12th, singled in the 14th, doubled in the 17th, walked in the 19th and doubled in the 20th.
