Reliever of the Year Goes to Payling

At the young age of only 24, Chad Payling has been named the California League Reliever of the Year winner for 2025.

The future appears bright for the Bakersfield Blaze relief ace, who captured the award with 35 saves in 57 relief appearances, 60 strikeouts in 66.2 innings and a record of 4-3 to go with his 2.29 ERA.

He received 8 first place votes out of a possible 10. Mike Wolf of the Inland Empire 66ers finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Eric White of the Modesto Nuts finished third.
