Christensen went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Inland Empire pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at LoanMart Field, he had a 5-for-9 line and a day he will long remember. And the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes had a win, 11-10, over the 66ers. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Jim Christensen flied out in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, doubled in the 9th, struck out in the 11th, grounded out in the 14th, singled in the 16th and struck out in the 17th.
