Burnett Bashes 5 Base Hits Friday, June 5th , 2026 It was a sensational day at the plate for Dave Burnett as he led the charge to a nifty 8-7 win over the JetHawks. The Inland Empire shortstop was pure misery for the Lancaster pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Burnett put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Travis Witherspoon, manager for the JetHawks, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Dave Burnett doubled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th, doubled in the 8th, was hit by a pitch in the 10th and doubled in the 13th.
