Encarnación Cracks 5 Hits Saturday, July 4th , 2026 Who needs batting practice? Apparently not Modesto Nuts first baseman Robinson Encarnación, who missed the team's pre-game session but peppered the visiting Stockton Ports for 5 hits come game time. The Nuts went on to take the 13-6 win. "I was late to the park and I wasn't sure coach was even going to keep me in the lineup," he told the press after the game. "Maybe I should skip BP more often." Robinson Encarnación doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
