Watson Sizzles -- Smokes Blue Jays for 5 Hits
Tuesday, April 28th , 2026
It seemed that Lakeland left fielder Lou Watson could do no wrong as the Flying Tigers KO'd the Blue Jays, 11-1. Watson rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Blue Jays hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Flying Tigers were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Dunedin fan after the game.
"I felt good. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Watson in the postgame press interview.
Lou Watson singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Steve Collins in the 7th.
Watson is currently batting .438 with 2 home runs, 10 runs scored and 6 RBIs. His OBP is .500.
