Carter Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Monday, June 22nd , 2026 Wes Carter exploded for a barrage of base hits at Calvin Falwell Field. The Daytona shortstop had a field day in his team's 15-7 triumph over the Bradenton Marauders, finishing 5-for-7. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Carter must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Wes Carter hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run triple in the 9th. This season, Carter has delivered 59 hits in 190 at-bats for a .311 average with 3 home runs. He is getting on base at a .380 clip and his totals also include 26 RBIs and 18 runs scored.
