Big Day for Shaffer: Swats 5 Hits Thursday, August 27th , 2026 Jimmy Shaffer of the St. Lucie Mets outhit everybody on the field at Tradition Field, but it was all for naught. Even as Shaffer personally tore up the Tampa Yankees with a 5-for-5 day, the Yankees were sending his Mets down to defeat, 17-15. Jimmy Shaffer singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Lou Cook in the 8th.
