Jupiter's Stroud Takes 2026 Most Valuable Player Award
Wednesday, October 7th , 2026
At the age of 23, Billy Stroud of the Jupiter Hammerheads could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2026 was good enough to win the center fielder the Florida State League Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .356 batting average this year, as well as a .407 on-base percentage. He played 110 games and racked up 147 hits, 32 doubles, 3 triples, 6 home runs, 55 RBIs and 61 runs scored.
He received 10 first place votes out of a possible 12. Jim Hawkins of the Clearwater Threshers finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Joel Vallance of the Dunedin Blue Jays finished third with 1 first place vote.
