Benstead 5-for-6 Against Beloit
Sunday, July 12th , 2026
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Cal Benstead of the Quad Cities River Bandits had one of those moments when he went 5-for-6 at the plate in his team's 15-4 win over the Beloit Snappers at Harry C. Pohlman Field.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 20-year-old catcher told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Cal Benstead hit a two-run single in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Manny Santos in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Benstead's current batting average stands at .270 and he has chalked up 1 home run and 5 RBIs.
