Jones Torches TinCaps for 6 Hits Sunday, July 12th , 2026 It was a downpour of hits for Chris Jones at Parkview Field. The Bowling Green Hot Rods center fielder tore into Fort Wayne for 6 hits in 7 at-bats to pace the Hot Rods to a rain-delayed 17-1 victory. Fort Wayne manager Yunir Garcia bemoaned his pitching, speculating his club got flustered by Jones's big day. "He was beating us and we stopped locating well," he said. "That makes you get behind in the count and you can't do that when a guy is hot like Jones was today. Not to take anything away from him, but bad location was the story of the ballgame." Chris Jones singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
