Grasshoppers Move on to Round 2 Wednesday, September 17th , 2025 The Greensboro Grasshoppers are heading to the Round 2, having narrowly defeated the Lakewood BlueClaws. Greensboro edged Lakewood in the series 3-2, with a win at NewBridge Bank Park in the clinching game by a 10-0 margin. Wally Ramsey turned in a strong offensive performance for the Grasshoppers and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a Round 2 win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Ramsey continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .450 with a .476 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 2 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Greensboro Grasshoppers will play against the Rome Firebirds in the next round. Rome won their series against the Augusta GreenJackets 3 games to 1.
