SAL Player of the Week Awarded Monday, July 6th , 2026 It was an extraordinary week for Jon Bates of the Lexington Legends. First he goes on a hot hitting streak, batting .560, then he is voted the Player of the Week in the South Atlantic League. Last week Bates went 14-for-25, racked up 1 home run and 5 RBIs and scored 7 runs. It was a heck of a week for the Lexington right fielder. In 70 games this season, Bates has compiled a .331 batting average with 92 hits and 2 home runs. He has also scored 32 times and knocked in 30 runs. |
