Rodríguez Belts 5 Hits Saturday, July 11th , 2026 José Rodríguez told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Rodríguez of the Hagerstown Suns did against the Delmarva Shorebirds. He went to the plate 6 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, but his club still suffered a defeat, 5-3. "Not much I can say," offered Rodríguez in the postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?" José Rodríguez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Rod Fitzgerald in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 10th.
