SAL's Top Starter is Lester Saturday, August 1st , 2026 Stan Lester of Charleston had an award-winning July as he took home the South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Month award. "He told me once people used to make fun of the way he pitches," Lester's pitching coach told reporters. "There wasn't anybody laughing in July except for Stan." Lester was all business when he took the mound though, collecting a 5-1 record in 7 starts. He struck out 43 batters in 55.2 innings and kept opponents to a .252 batting average. This season to date, Lester has a record of 9 wins and 3 losses with a 1.69 ERA, has appeared in 16 games and struck out 83 in 112 innings. |
