López Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Tuesday, August 25th , 2026 With 1 hit at NewBridge Bank Park, Orlando López added another game to his hitting streak -- the Hickory center fielder has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Crawdads, as they fell, 5-4, to the Greensboro Grasshoppers. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Greensboro manager J.A. Happ said later. "I'll let him get 5 hits in 5 at-bats if it means we get a win." Orlando López struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. López is currently hitting at a .313 pace with 10 home runs, 41 RBIs and has scored 54 times. |
